Mersing is a small, developing town. It has the stretch of river along its town and facing the sea. It is just a pit stop for those taking the boat to the islands of Tioman, Sibu, Besar and others. We followed the river trail which led to the sea front and here were some of the interesting photos we took along the way. We did not venture to any of the islands as we were there only for a day. Yet, it was a fulfilling visit as I was there just to catch up with my old housemate from college.

I liked Mersing town. Slow, relax, still developing. Food was reasonable and almost the same everywhere in Malaysia. We did not try anything special. They boys decided on KFC as usual. Later, they went to the river view where the restaurants had put out tables and chairs for supper. It was a nice break with just us, our agenda, no rush, no hassle, no itinerary, .... I salute the patience and tolerance of the boys to humour their mum. As Ikram said -
Mum is on a nostalgic trail .....
