The Sabah trip ... Kota Kinabalu ... here we come!

Monday, 12th November 2012. 10:20am Air Asia flight to Kota Kinabalu, We were at LCCT waiting for boarding. Noor had decided to take all of us to KK to visit Akmal and a holiday treat for us all. Akmal would not be coming home until his convocation next year. He would be spending his semester break in January and June to do his final thesis on crocodiles at Balambangan Island under the funding and collaboration with WWF (World Wildlife Fund). He is the only one in his course who accepted to do this topic. I may not like it but I support his decision and we encourage him. Hmmm ... crocs ??? :-}  Besides, his brothers have never been to Sabah. Since it was their semester break, why not?

The weather prediction was rain for the whole week we would be there. Well, we would just make the best of the situation. Finally, we were called up for boarding. The weather in KL was kind and fine. The flight mid-way in the air was quite turbulent due to bad weather in the east and KK. We touched down in KK at almost 1:00pm. After filling in the form for admittance into Sabah, we were welcomed by Akmal and the heavy rain. It seemed that it rained whenever we visited KK. The last time we sent Akmal for registration 2 years ago, it was also raining cats and dogs. Akmal had rented a car for us to go to Kundasang. Traffic was slow and the afternoon jam was at its peak. KK has heavy traffic and narrow roads. Parking was terrible.
The permit to enter Sabah - a three month stay

We stopped at Indah Permai, near his hostel (which is not very near the campus of UMS) for lunch. It was quite nice. There was a variety of dishes but what you could get in the Peninsular. I ate something mild and safe as the road to Kundasang would be trying my motion sickness. It would be a winding, uphill road. Would it be worth the suffering? ;-(  Or the place would make the journey worthwhile? I usually got sick when I reached Camerons which would be such a trouble for my sister and everybody. The last time I was in Camerons was during Nadia's wedding which was in 2007. Kak Haj had been insisting that we came up for a break.... hua..hua..hua..  ;-(((

Hence ..... Kundasang, here we come !!!!!
