We left for Melaka to check-out Ikram's new campus at Felcra Seri Mendapat in Jasin. We had no GPS, Google map was of not much help and Jasin was so unfamiliar to us. Thus, after Subuh, we started for Melaka and stopped for breakfast at Dengkil R&R. We took Jasin exit and of course,
human GPS. We found the campus and it was like it was in the middle of nowhere !!!! No houses along the way or kampung and Jasin town was 25 minutes away. The reason we went was because the Science Computer faculty would be moving to this campus next semester i.e. early March 2014. The students would not be given hostels and they were given this grace period to look for accommodation. Definitely Ikram would be needing transport. Oh dear ..... well, at least he had seen the new campus and we knew the location. Ikram would come again with his friends to look for houses for rent this coming weekend.
We drove along Jasin town and saw a road sign that stated "Bukit Katil". That was where one the best asam pedas daging tetel could be found, according to Hamid. So, with Ikram as the driver for the day, we located the restaurant and ate the highly recommended asam pedas. After lunch, I saw the lepat ubi and decided to have that. It was "comfort food" - same as what we used to eat a long time ago ....

From top left - kerabu kacang boto campur, acar timun+nenas, kari kepala ikan merah, asam pedas daging tetel and kari ayam |
|
Kari kepala ikan merah - yummy, fresh, tender fish |
|
Price according to size - from Rm5 - RM8 - reminds me of Sabah ... prawns were so cheap there |
|
The variety of vegetables and kerabu |
|
The dishes were still being cooked as we were early - masak lemak nangka, pucuk paku ... isshhh.... |
After lunch we went to Bangi to visit Nadia and she treated us with their satay special there. Chunky, large pieces of satay ... Later, Nadia followed us to send off Ikram to Uitm, Shah Alam as he had classes tomorrow. Nadia joined us for a simple dinner at Periuk Belanga restaurant.

It was a good day.
Alhamdulillah. SubhanAllah. Breakfast in Dengkil. Lunch in Melaka. Tea in Bangi. Dinner in Kelana Jaya. We managed to locate the new Jasin campus. We had Ikram as a guest in our food trail for lunch and Nadia with Adi for dinner. I could only recite
Alhamdulillah.
